You Down With VPP? Yeah, You Know Me.
Other people's p-jargon isn't necessarily ours. Losing the acronyms invites more people to the conversation.
By Melanie Adamson
Imagine you were at a party, and everyone around you was talking about a fancy thing called a virtual power plant, or VPP as many like to call it—a clever system that helped manage electricity smartly and efficiently.
When these folks got together to discuss the VPP, they used strange words and acronyms that made it hard for others to understand what they were saying. They would throw around terms like "distributed energy resources" and "aggregated load balancing" without explaining what they meant.
Melanie makes a case for why using all this energy jargon without explaining it properly can be bad for communication. When we communicate in a way everyone can understand, we open the conversation to more voices and ideas.
